Having filled the 2,000 seat Arlington Theatre to capacity the last four times she has played that venue, this show represents a return to Ms. DiFranco’s roots in a smaller venue and with a smaller band (Todd Sickafoose on upright bass and Allison Miller on drums) – and promises to be a powerful and intimate night. DiFranco has made waves as a pioneer of the contemporary independent-music movement, not to mention her role as a noteworthy folk-rock artist, and a distinctively progressive voice within the industry. Opening act is the Vermont-based solo folk artist Anaïs Mitchell.
The Lobero Theatre is at 33 East Canon Perdido Street in downtown Santa Barbara. Showtime is 8pm, and this is an all-ages event. Advance tickets or more information can be found at lobero.com or by calling 805.963.0761.
