Hip-Hop radio DJ Bennett P steps away from his boom-bap roots as a guest host during the “Radio Causeway” timeslot (Tuesday, 9-10am). He will talk to Anthony Laciura, an actor on the HBO period drama Boardwalk Empire, (nominated for 18 Emmys this year).

Laciura plays “Eddie Kessler” on the Martin Scorsese-produced show, which is set during the Prohibition era. Kessler is the butler and right-hand-man of the criminal “king” of Atlantic City, “Enoch ‘Nucky’ Thompson” (played by Steve Buscemi).

Before scoring this high-profile role, Laciura had a 27-year career as an operatic tenor with the New York Metropolitan Opera. After 877 performances with the MET, Laciura retired from the stage and landed his first TV role as the often comedic butler on Boardwalk Empire.

Laciura will talk with Bennett P about his childhood in New Orleans, his impressive operatic career, working on Boardwalk Empire with Martin Scorsese and Steve Buscemi, and his future in TV and film.

The hour will feature the most beautiful arias sung by Laciura himself followed by Prohibition era music.

Check it out on KCSB this Tuesday, September 13th from 9-10am.
