A “Sactown” native, Coe will return to the focus of a January 2011 broadcast, which introduced area listeners to the stories behind figures with roots in the northern part of the state, including Bob Wills, Lynn Anderson, The Cramps, Steel Breeze, Fanny, The Groovie Ghoulies, and more.

This week’s program will feature Sacramento-oriented artists such as Hoagy Carmichael, Eden Ahbez, Spiral Starecase, Mary Love, Jimmy Smith, Michael Hedges, Tesla, 7 Seconds, Allyson Seconds, Deftones, The Softies, Molly Ringwald, and Cake.

“The Freak Power Ticket” airs on Mondays during KCSB’s Fall Quarter from 11am-12noon PST.
