This week on Culture of Protest, marking the anniversary of the American atomic bomb attack on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, we’ll play an array of songs written over the decades that help us remember and reflect at a time when the government is contemplating investing $1 trillion to ‘modernize’ the nuclear arsenal. We’ll listen to Pres. Obama’s historic speech at Hiroshima earlier this year and wonder what he meant when he said,

“Let us now find the courage, together, to spread peace, and pursue a world without nuclear weapons.”
