Don’t Cut Us Out! student coalition members enacted a mock graduation beneath Storke Tower on Wednesday afternoon. Organizers of the event say they fear that fewer students will be able to earn their degrees as support services are cut and student fees increase.
The University of California regents last Thursday approved a 9.3% increase in student fees, while today, the California State University trustees approved a 10% hike in fees to students and their families. At UC schools, that means the overall cost of attending a university while living on campus will amount to an estimated $25,000 per year.
