The first person ever to hike the Central Coast’s 420 mile Condor Trail ‘straight through’ will be in Santa Barbara this week. Brittany Nielsen will share stories of her adventure at a fundraiser hosted by the Los Padres Forest Association. The young woman spent 37 days slashing her way thru the rugged, un-groomed trail, from Ventura County to near Big Sur. Nielsen explains in her conversation with KCSB’s Lisa Osborn that she hiked closer to 500 miles because her GPS system stopped working mid-trail.
Nielsen will share her story Thursday evening (July 21st, 6:30pm) in Santa Barbara, at a fundraiser hosted by the Los Padres Forest Association. For details and ticket information go to lpforest.org.
