On the next Roots to the Source, guest DJ Philo Beto hosts another jazz program welcoming local journalist and “jazzhead” Leslie Westbrook for a chat about the newly released Carmell Jones/Forrest Westbrook/Gary Peacock/Bill Schwemmer CD.

DJ Philo Beto writes:
Soon after the passing of jazz pianist Forrest Westbrook in April 2014, Leslie Westbrook, Forrest’s daughter, discovered unpublished recordings. Eager to get her father’s music out to jazz fans, she enlisted Barcelona based Fresh Sound’s Jordi Pujol, to release the current CD.

Also joining the show and jazz conversation is Bevan Manson, a jazz pianist and composer who will talk about his music, Forrest Westbrook’s playing and more!

“Roots to the Source” airs on Sunday in the summer from 4-6pm PDT.
