On Saturday, February 22nd, Ted Coe, producer/host of “The Freak Power Ticket,” conducted a lengthy interview with writer, critic, and filmmaker Matt Zoller Seitz.

Author of the best-selling new release The Wes Anderson Collection (Abrams Books, 2013), Matt Zoller Seitz is also editor-in-chief at; staff television critic at New York Magazine and; and a champion of the video essay (a YouTube-era creative phenomenon).

The first part of this interview (largely focusing on the life and legacy of the late film critic and writer Roger Ebert) aired on Monday, February 24th. To hear that podcast, click HERE.

The second-and-final half of that interview (which aired on Monday, March 17th) focused primarily on Seitz’s The Wes Anderson Collection and discussed (in three segments):

  • the book’s textual influences and overall vibrancy;
  • Seitz’s 1994 Pulitzer nomination for distinguished criticism;
  • the depth and breadth of filmmaker Wes Anderson‘s visual, thematic, and sonic artistry (from the Bottle Rocket short [1994] to Moonrise Kingdom [2012]);
  • Anderson’s latest work, the Berlin International Film Festival prize-winning film, The Grand Budapest Hotel (which opens tomorrow, Friday, March 21st, in Santa Barbara).
