It’s our second week subbing for the esteemed Dick Flacks on “Culture of Protest,” so here’s another chance for you to get to see what happens when “Frank ‘n’ George” bring their decidedly eclectic ears to topics more serious than they usual present on our own show. It turns out September 18, 1960 is the day Fidel Castro led the Cuban delegation to the UN in New York, so that seemed like something worth memorializing 54 years later. Expect much actual Cuban music, from the political (Pablo Milanes, say) to the less so (Perez Prado). And then a bunch of curveballs, since, after all, Fidel loved baseball.
“Culture of Protest” airs Thursdays 6-7 pm this summer.
