On today’s edition of “Future Daze” from 2-3pm PST, host Marisa Ho and guest-host Ted Coe greet filmmakers Wayne Price and Graham Leader, the director and producer of Heartworn Highways Revisted, a documentary debuting tonight at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival.
“This year marks the 40th anniversary of the seminal music documentary, Heartworn Highways, a film that explored and captured the nascent roots of the Outlaw Country movement in the mid-70’s. Heartworn Highways Revisited celebrates the authenticity and expresses the feelings of the legendary original, via a community of contemporary ‘outlaws’ living and creating music in Nashville, Tennessee.”
Artists featured in the new work include Deer Tick, Shovels & Rope, and Langhorne Slim, plus Jonny Fritz, Robert Ellis, and Shelly Colvin, who will be in attendance at tonight’s world premiere screening. Some of the original artists from the Outlaw Country scene in the film include David Allan Coe, Guy Clark, and Steve Young.
Tune in for a live conversation between 2-3pm today!
