This evening, Thursday, October 16th, KCSB presents indie rockers Cloud Nothings, live in concert at Velvet Jones Nightclub.

The Cleveland based group (signed to Car Park Records) will be joined by Portland-based rock duo Citypools, Los Angeles alt-rock quartet Dear Boy, and Santa Barbara locals The Reignsmen. Showtime for this all-ages concert is 8pm.

Next up, on Friday, October 17th, at 8pm, KCSB-FM presents retro-soul revivalist Nick Waterhouseplus Santa Barbara surf rockers Kelp and vinyl DJ duo The Ideals, also at Velvet Jones (which is at 432 State Street in downtown Santa Barbara).

The LA-based guitarist and vocalist has received much acclaim songwriting and guitar work, his DIY values, and for his fusion of R&B, jazz, and twangy rock’n’roll. His music appears on the label Innovative Leisure Records, and Waterhouse has also produced two acclaimed albums by psychedelic garage/surf rockers Allah-Las.

This year’s conference will be at the Santa Barbara Art Foundry (120 Santa Barbara Street) in the Funk Zone on Sunday, October 19th from 11am-4pm, with guests including Warped Tour founder Kevin Lyman and David Codr, CEO of musicpage.com. For the first time ever, attendance is free and open to those who RSVP in advance.

Dozens of other bands/artists will also perform at a venues throughout downtown Santa Barbara, including Dawes, Joyce Manor, Beat Connection, Cornerstone, Deluka, The Upbeat, Dishwalla, and more.

To wind down the activities, this year’s New Noise Block Party will be on Sunday, October 19th, from noon-8pm. The lineup includes CHERUB, The Pains of Being Pure at Heart, FMLYBND, Ghost Beach, Gibbz, Mango Mango and more. The mini-fest will be on Gray Avenue at Yanonali Street in the Funk Zone.
