At 7:00pm on Friday, March 16th, the UCSB Men’s Volleyball team hosts the USC Trojans. The members of the UCSB Men’s Volleyball team collectively agree that they would much rather play their home matches at Rob Gym than at the Thunderdome. And lately, that mentality has become apparent. The Gauchos were scheduled to play 5 matches at the Thunderdome this season, and now after playing the first 2 of those matches, UCSB has only won a single set. The UC San Diego Tritons pulled off the unlikely upset last week versus the Gauchos with a 3-1 victory. And two days ago, the Pepperdine Waves swept UCSB 3-0 in a match where the Gauchos were played close in every game, but could never quite finish as strong as the Waves. Tonight, the men in Blue and Gold will be taking on the Trojans of USC who are currently on a 9 match winning streak. The MPSF is considered the most competitive conference in NCAA men’s volleyball and the Gauchos have been struggling to find any success. They will be looking to turn things around tonight against USC and will be aiming for a win, something that has eluded them throughout this two week long home stand.
Mitchell Clements and Sabrina Benyammi will have the call live from the Thunderdome. The pregame show starts at 6:45pm and the link below will become active 15 minutes before the start of the broadcast.
