And by that we mean this week our show is devoted to song’s about the moon, or perhaps bands with moon in their names, but we will try to avoid any Moonies. (Despite Don DeLillo’s brilliant opening of Mao II, but we digress, and what else would you expect from us.) That old devil moon has been inspiring howls since we humans weren’t even human, so there’s no surprise there’s a huge range of ways this show can roam, from Astor Piazzolla to Allison Moorer, from Television (will we or won’t we play all 10+ minutes of the brilliant “Marquee Moon”?) to Terence Blanchard. At any different moment that moon might be bad, full, blue, orange, silvery, new…and that barely scratches the lunar surface. So tune in!
