On Wednesday, January 28th, Dr. Michio Kaku — a theoretical physicist and futurist — presented a Granada Theatre talk that touched on his best-selling book The Future of the Mind: The Scientific Quest to Understand, Enhance, and Empower the Mind (a presentation of UCSB Arts & Lectures)
That same day, staffers and programmers from KCSB-FM participated in a special master class with Dr. Kaku discussing his extensive work in media. On today’s broadcast of “The Freak Power Ticket,” producer/host Ted Coe will share a recording of that 45-minute conversation, with Professor Kaku elaborating on his efforts to make science more accessible to the greater public. The program will wrap up with a selection of music inspired by the topic.
A “co-founder of string field theory,” Dr. Kaku is also a major proponent of popular science (akin to Carl Sagan, Neil deGrasse Tyson, and Bill Nye), with regular appearances on radio and television, and with a significant presence online as well. Michio Kaku hosts two syndicated, weekly radio programs — “Exploration with Michio Kaku,” from Pacifica Radio’s WBAI-FM and the AM-radio talk-show “Science Fantastic Live.”
“The Freak Power Ticket” airs on Mondays in the spring from 11am-12noon PDT.
