Misheard. Misunderstood. Mistaken. Misperceived. This week “Frank ‘n’ George” will explore the world of lyrics people don’t really know, the kind of moment when Jimi Hendrix sings, “Excuse me while I kiss this guy” or Dylan drones, “The ants are my friends, they’re blowing in the wind” or Ella Fitzgerald scats, “$^&^%#$#%!!” It might just be because we’re getting old(er), but more and more it seems hard to figure out the words to things, even things we once thought we knew. So listen up and puzzle things out for yourself. Plus learn what a mondegreen and an eggcorn and a mumpsimus are. (Talk about you’re educational radio–just talk about it in a mostly indecipherable way.)
“Frank ‘n’ George” airs Tuesdays 10 am – 12 noon this spring.
