nnsb-newA new noise is hitting Santa Barbara, October 8th through 10th. New Noise Santa Barbara is a three-day music and digital media conference that will showcase over 50 bands at multiple venues throughout downtown Santa Barbara, as well as host educational panels on the music industry, with guests from every part of the business.

n146377890196_9070Joining in on the festivities, KCSB and the Santa Barbara Independent will be co-presenting a New Noise stage on Saturday, October 10th at Velvet Jones Nightclub, featuring three top local indie-rock groups — Oso, Franklin for Short, and Le Petit Protest – and two acts from farther afield — Pilar Diaz (formerly of L.A.’s Los Abandoned) and Raining and OK (from Arizona). (Doors for this stage open at 7pm, showtime is 8pm sharp, individual tickets are $10, and admission is restricted to 18 and over.)

New Noise Santa Barbara musical headliners Michael Franti & Spearhead will have the spotlight at the Arlington Theatre on Thursday, October 8th. Special guest is Murs of Living Legends. Other bands to perform over the weekend include Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros, Santa Barbara’s Mad Caddies, UCSB alumnus Zach Gill (of ALO) & Kyle Hollingsworth (of String Cheese Incident), No Use For A Name, Har Mar Superstar, Culver City Dub Collective, The Growlers, and more. Other concert venues include SOhO Restaurant & Music Club, Sand Bar, and Whiskey Richards.

Conference proceedings will occur at the Canary Hotel in downtown Santa Barbara on Friday, October 9th & Saturday, October 10th, bringing together music industry & technology professionals, entrepreneurs, artists, managers, agents, producers, lawyers, publishers, and fans in a convergence of art, commerce and technology.
