John Brockman on HEAD movie poster

On Monday, March 19th, “The Freak Power Ticket” paid tribute to The Monkees‘ cult-classic motion picture, Head; its screenwriter Jack Nicholson and director Bob Rafelson (who went on to produce Easy Rider and Five Easy Pieces); cultural innovator Michael Nesmith; plus Micky Dolenz and Peter Tork; and wished “safe travels” to Davy Jones, who passed away in February.

The Monkees’ expert (and friend) Andrew Sandoval and special-guest musician Kepi Ghoulie shared their thoughts with producer/host Ted Coe, along with music, film trailers, and conversation related to the so-called “Prefab Four.”

An edited version of that hour-long broadcast is now available online below (for playback or download).* Part one of this two-part tribute can be found by clicking HERE.

“The Freak Power Ticket” airs on Mondays in the spring from 11am-12Noon.
