Of his program Culture of Protest, Dick Flacks writes:
occupy in depth
This week a Culture of Protest special—a conversation with Heather Hurwitz whose been doing field work for her dissertation in the UCSB sociology department: “Gender, Feminism and Culture in OWS”. We’ll explore the ways that feminist thought and practice has helped shape the Occupy movement, and with the help of a wonderful range of musical material Heather has gathered, we’ll get a glimpse of the movement as a producer of culture. And, contrary to the conventional wisdom that Occupy is over, we’ll hear Heather’s observations on its many spin offs and ripples.  We’ve got two hours this week for a rare inside look at Occupy as an ongoing social and cultural force.
