Of the next edition of “The Freak Power Ticket,” host Ted Coe says, “Many San Francisco Giants fans in Southern California experience life as if within enemy territory, given a generations-long rivalry with the Los Angeles Dodgers.
No need to hide our heads, however, especially after the West Coast team’s first world championship in 2010. In the wake of that historic accomplishment, a new sort of ‘Giants Nation’ has made its presence felt at ballparks throughout the country, with large fan showings visible from San Diego and Los Angeles to Houston and New York.
My fall debut broadcast, this Monday, October 15th, will celebrate the pennant-contending playoff team, and America’s pastime, with a playlist featuring tribute and novelty songs from the 1950s to the present, related music, promotional nuggets, classic radio, television, and film clips, poetry, comedy, documentary film trailers, commentary, and a whole lot of heart.
Break out your pre-Halloween Black & Orange Giants gear and join me for a live transmission from behind enemy lines.”
“The Freak Power Ticket” airs on Mondays in the fall from 11am-12noon.
