The Baseball Project is an indie-rock super-group that features the Pacific Northwest resident McCaughey, Steve Wynn (of LA’s The Dream Syndicate and Gutterball), Linda Pitmon (formerly of Minneapolis rock-band Zuzu’s Petals), and Peter Buck and Mike Mills of R.E.M. (from Athens, GA).

Their third album of baseball songs, called 3rd, was released last spring, courtesy of Yep Roc Records. Producer/host Ted Coe’s broadcast also featured music associated with all those groups, plus a selection of rockin’ tunes about the national pastime.

An edited podcast highlighting that interview is now available for streaming or download, below.

“The Freak Power Ticket” airs on Mondays in the summer from 11am-1pm PDT.
