Called an “experimental powerhouse” by the Village Voice, So Percussion has been creating music that explores all the extremes of emotion and musical possibility since 1999. The Brooklyn-based quartet’s innovative work with today’s most exciting composers has quickly helped them forge a genre-defying career with cross-generational appeal. About one performance the New York Times wrote, “Time and again…you found yourself smiling in a quiet amazement that could verge on disbelief.” In the wake of their recent November 1st concert presented by Arts & Lectures at UCSB, you can learn more about these four adventurous musicians, and hear some of their work.
