Greek music of protest and resistance is our theme this week. We’ll highlight two icons of this tradition: Mikis Theodorakis, one of the greatest composers of our time (this year celebrating his 90th birthday) and Maria Farantouri, Greece’s goddess of song for the last half century. And we’ll hear some of the songs that have inspired or been inspired by Syriza and the popular uprisings against austerity.
