On the Wednesday, November 20th edition of “Gaucho Sports Spot” from 530-6pm, KCSB’s Sports Department will be interviewing UCSB and KCSB alumnus Alex Pavlovic. A staff writer for the San Jose Mercury News / Bay Area News Group, Pavlovic has covered the San Francisco Giants’ three world championships, not far removed from his days as Sports Editor at UC Santa Barbara’s Daily Nexus and as a sportscaster for KCSB-FM.

This live interview is part of KCSB’s special programming during its Annual Fund Drive 2014, which runs through Friday, November 21st. Tonight’s KCSB Sports’ hosts Alex Kim and Ryan Soe will reminisce with Pavlovic about his days at UCSB (Class of 2008), while also shedding light on the life of a young and innovative journalist during this time of sweeping changes in the media.

From World Series parades to a quirky love for animated GIFs, we’ll run the gamut during tonight’s broadcast, while asking for your support of KCSB-FM by calling (805) 893-2424 or donating online HERE!

We’ll be making copies of new books available for contributions of $25 for students and $50 for non-students – including author Dan Epstein’s “Bicentennial baseball” book Stars and Strikes, and the Bay Area News Group’s Triple Crowned: The San Francisco Giants’ Incredible 2014 Championship Season, which includes Pavlovic’s work.

“Gaucho Sports Spot” airs from 530-6pm on Wednesdays in the Fall, and from 515-530pm on Mondays and Fridays.
