On today’s broadcast of “The Freak Power Ticket” (Monday, October 24, 11am-12noon): host Ted Coe is joined by Steven Linderholm, the man behind “Lompocalypse: Lompoc’s 2nd Annual Zombie Walk,” this coming Saturday in the unexpectedly cool small-town north of Santa Barbara.

Zombie walks are “organized public gathering of people who dress up in zombie costumes. Usually taking place in an urban center, the participants make their way around the city streets and through shopping malls to a public space (or a series of taverns in the case of a zombie pub crawl) in a somewhat orderly fashion.” Mr. Linderholm will explain all of the ins-and-outs of this local iteration of the zombie-fan phenomenon.

The two will also share trailers of zombie movies along with music inspired by these “living dead” icons of horror fiction.

Joel Hodgson of Mystery Science Theater 3000

What’s more, stay tuned for a Halloween edition of “The Freak Power Ticket” (Monday, October 31), with special guest Joel Hodgson, creator of TV’s Peabody Award-winning comedy series Mystery Science Theater 3000, and the touring troupe Cinematic Titanic, who will be riffing on the movie Doomsday Machine LIVE on Sunday, Nov. 6, at UCSB’s Campbell Hall! That program will be entirely devoted to Hodgson’s work!
