Lolita1962Of his next broadcast (April 8), Ted Coe, producer/host of “The Freak Power Ticket,” writes: “Monday’s show is part 2 of a tribute inspired by the LACMA’s Stanley Kubrick exhibition (for more background info, click HERE).

I’m calling the series, ‘Color Me Kubrick.’ Next up we’ll hear music, sounds, and stories associated with Stanley Kubrick’s controversial 1962 classic, Lolita, with James Mason, Peter Sellers, and Shelley Winters, adapted in part by novelist Vladimir Nabakov.

The playlist will include: songs by Kubrick’s “Lolita” herself, Sue Lyon, Nelson Riddle, The Police, John Barry, The Ventures, Shirley Bassey, Dizzy Gillespie, Marilyn Manson; the official film trailer; movie clips; and more…

We’ll cap things off during my show’s final segment with a preview of UCSB Arts & Lectures’ upcoming Wednesday-night presentation of comic-book legend Scott McCloud + the ART | ARCHITECTURE ON FILM series for Spring 2013, with special-guest Roman Baratiak, UCSB A&L’s Associate Director.”

“The Freak Power Ticket” airs on Mondays in the Spring from 11am-12noon.
