The Westerlies are a New York-based brass quartet comprised of two trumpets and two trombones. Avid explorers of cross-genre territory, the Westerlies are dedicated to the cultivation of a new brass quartet repertoire that exists in the ever-narrowing gap between American folk music, jazz, classical, and indie rock.

They will be in-studio for a performance and interview on “Rocket Garden Holiday” later today, Monday, August 18th from 1pm-3pm with host Chris Vestuto, ahead of their headlining set later tonight at SOhO Restaurant and Music Club.

Tonight’s opening act, River Song Quintet, is a Los Angeles-base ensemble of composers devoted to the performance of original compositions and arrangements that seamlessly blend the traditions of jazz and improvised music with western classical chamber and American folk music.

Stay tuned to KCSB-FM to hear The Westerlies live between 1-3pm PDT on “Rocket Garden Holiday.”
