TVSB, Santa Barbara’s non-profit community-access television organization, has “announced… six recipients of the[ir] 2015 Media Access Awards. The awards celebrate local independent media and producers for building community dialogue and increasing diversity in our local media.”
These award recipients include the producers of “Third World News Review,” the long-running public-affairs program which has aired both on cable-access TV and on KCSB-FM for some time now (on Monday nights for a live TV audience, with a Tuesday night delayed broadcast on KCSB-FM’s airwaves). The program is currently on hiatus during the summer months.
TVSB’s press release states:
The Media Access Impact Award is presented to a program or producer working to have a positive impact on the Santa Barbara community through media. ‘Third World News Review’ is receiving this award in recognition of their long-term impact. This program series has provided an analysis of issues about or affecting 3rd World countries from their own perspective rather than from that of U.S. national interest on local public access for 30 years.
On Thursday, August 20th, at 5:30pm, TVSB is hosting a “Media Access Awards Celebration” at the Montecito Events Center. Click HERE for tickets and more info.
KCSB-FM would like to extend warm congratulations to “Third World News Review” producers Elizabeth Robinson and Cedric Robinson and to all the other TWNR contributors!
