“Culture of Protest” host Professor Dick Flacks writes, “On this week’s show we respond to the convergence of the two holidays with music relating to the social meanings of both. The passover seder speaks to the generations about slavery and its overcoming, and we will feature a number of songs that deliberately link Jewish, African and African-American  expression and experience.  And to observe Easter we feature a musical debate about Jesus, Judas and social justice. And in the process we’ll remember singer/songwriter Phil Ochs who took his own life on April 9, 1976.”
“Culture of Protest” airs Thursdays from 6-7pm on KCSB-FM
