On Monday, June 3rd, through Thursday, June 7th, this non-invasive, public campus art project, done as part of the UCSB Department of Art’s ARTST1111 class, involves utilizing the DJs of KCSB-FM 91.9 to play the ice cream truck theme song at 3 pm, every day, for nearly a week.

Emphasizing music as a form of transportation through time and space, this project is attempting to recreate a familiarly sweet experience. While strategically playing the ice cream truck song at 3 pm for four consecutive days, this project is aiming to evoke a sense of nostalgia, simultaneously representing nostalgia itself as a marker of time. Furthermore, the ice cream truck song will be slightly altered each time it is played in order to further exploit the inaccuracy of memory.
