At 7:00pm on Friday, December 16th, the UCSB Men’s Basketball team travels far up the coast to take on University of Washington. The Gauchos looked rusty in a tight 65-61 victory down in San Diego against the Toreros, but they still came away with a win in their first stop of a 5 game road trip. With the defense focusing on Orlando Johnson, it was Jaime Serna who stepped up for the Gauchos who lead the floor with a career high 22 point mark and tied his personal best with 5 blocked shots. The Huskies will prove to be one of the toughest opponents the Gauchos will face this season. They have not lose to a non-conference team since 2008. In fact, they are 59-2 against non Pac-12 squads since 2004. It’s a tall order for the Gauchos, but it is a chance for them to prove their worth against one of the toughest teams in the Pac-12.
Alex Schlick and Joe Broder will have the call live from the Thunderdome. The pregame show starts at 6:45pm, and tip-off is scheduled for 7pm.
