At 8:00 AM on Wednesday, July 18 the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Department issued an “evacuation order” for the area within the Los Padres National Forest and the Peachtree community.

The American Red Cross shelter at Santa Ynez High School has been closed. Residents seeking emergency housing due to the Zaca Fire can reach the Red Cross at (800) 951-5600.

Santa Barbara County has opened its Emergency Operations Center at 6:00 p.m., Pacific Time, Monday, July 16, 2007 in support of fire fighting operations involved in the Zaca Fire.

The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Department tonight also issued an “evacuation order” for residents of Happy Canyon Road above Baseline Road, including the communities of Tunnel Ranch, Peachtree Canyon, Rancho De Los Vistadores and Sedgwick Ranch.
