The David Bowie concept album The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars debuted in 1972.

To commemorate Ziggy Stardust‘s 40th anniversary, today’s edition of “The Freak Power Ticket” will feature cover versions of each song from this landmark recording, including interpretations by artists from around the world such as The Polyphonic Spree, Mick Ronson, Leningrad Cowboys, Bettye LaVette, El Vez, Bauhaus, and Seu Jorge. David Bowie himself makes an appearance with a B-Side originally recorded as part of a pre-Ziggy side project.

Producer/host Ted Coe will also introduce a few original songs that pay tribute to – and spoof – Bowie’s extraterrestrial alter-ego.

Join us for this globe-trotting homage to the glam-rock era’s Man Who Fell to Earth!

“The Freak Power Ticket” airs on Mondays in the fall from 11am-12noon.
